Universal Careers will be holding a free Field Training Officer class November 26, 2010. The class will provide people with basic skills and information from a trained paramedic.
The one day training class will encompass accident prevention and basic first aid. With the busy holiday season in full swing and children home from school, these skills can be even more necessary.
“These are just things everyone should know,” said Kevin Simpson, program manager for Universal Careers. “Universal Careers wants to make programs like this available for everyone because you never know when an accident or emergency could happen. It's also a way to utilize one of our strengths – the experienced professionals who instruct our students.”
Universal Careers has been training EMT/paramedics since 2005. The courses are taught by paramedics who have worked in the field for several years and have proven records instructing others. Graduates of UC's EMT program are certified to work in all 50 states in a variety of health care professions.
Universal Careers other programs include paramedic refresher courses, online courses and first aid and EMS training for non-health care professionals and lay persons.
