The enrollment is efficient enough to educate and provide you all the necessary skills that you will need when facing the every day life of an  emergency medical technician. In addition, you will learn everything you need to pass the license examinations. In this regard, the National Medical Education and Training Center has been able to offer a lot of services and programs to help you qualify for the emergency medical technician examination.

This examination consists of approximately 150 questions. The job of an emergency medical technician is very difficult and can be a serious challenge to anyone who works in the profession. Getting the right kinds of training and qualification is important to help ease the transition from lay person or student to professional. Emergency medical technicians are known as the first people to respond in a medical emergency. In most cases, they can make the difference between saving a life or losing a life. Paramedics can also enjoy employment opportunities in homeopathy, physical therapy, and even supervisor positions.

The University of Texas Health Science Center and the NMETC have collaborated together to be able to offer you the highest quality training for both Paramedic and emergency medical technician programs. Those who are being provided the right kind of training on how to operate emergency room equipment will enjoy the benefits of their hard work once they graduate. They gain valuable skills in mastering the tools and procedures.

All 50 states require paramedics to be licensed. The levels and titles will vary for each state. In some states, such as the District of Columbia, certification by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians is required. In other states, paramedics have to take state administered examinations. In some states, the licensed has to be renewed every three years or so. In addition to that, paramedics are required to take a refresher course and to continue their education years after having graduated from their training programs.

Emergency medical technicians and paramedics also are required to be emotionally stable and have good physical condition. They are required to have to lift heavy loads, bend over and stoop on the job. They are also required to have good eyesight with accurate color vision ability. Many ambulance companies and employers will require a criminal background investigation before hiring the candidate.

With the proper paramedic training, you are able to become an operations manager, supervisor, executive director of emergency services or administrative director. Some paramedics move on to become teachers, dispatchers, instructors, or physician assistants. Others move on to medical sales, marketing, or maintenance of emergency medical equipment. Employment opportunities for paramedics  are very good.

In 2010, paramedics held almost 300,000 jobs in the USA. Many of them were employed in ambulance services, hospitals and fire departments. The employment rate for paramedics is expected to grow faster than all other occupations through 2018. Emergency medical technicians and paramedics will be in high demand in the future. The starting pay for an entry level emergency medical technician is approximately $15 an hour. The starting pay for a paramedic is approximately $20 an hour  to $30 an hour.
