Universal Careers helps graduates find their place

The purpose of education is learning, but getting a job out of it is also important.

Universal Careers emt, a leader in EMT/paramedic training, is well aware of the needs of its students. That is why graduates are given assistance to make sure their success continues in the working world.

Students at Universal Careers receive up to date training at the school's partner facility in Fredericksburg, Va. They work with experienced EMT/paramedic instructors who work in the field, giving them a point of reference to help students learn practically. The students train on real medical equipment and go to actual emergency rooms and hospitals rather than staying in classrooms for the training.

When students complete the training, they certify as EMTs, able to work in all 50 states. While many schools consider this the end of their partnership, Universal Careers goes even further.

The school offers help with resume writing and employs placement professionals to help graduates find work in the Emergency Medical Service field. Universal Careers is able to draw on its database of clients and past graduates to help new graduates gain employment in either public or private sector jobs.

“I went through the program and kind of knew where I would like to work. I talked with the placement people and they worked to get me into a private company on the West coast. I get to work with other UC grads,” said Lauren Thomas, a UC graduate and EMT. “I know friends who went through school and they didn't get near the attention I did.”

Past Universal Careers clients continue to work with the school, contacting UC directly for graduates.

Since its inception in 2005, Universal Careers has become one of the premiere organizations for EMT/paramedic training.

Universal Careers emt announces fundraising promotion

Universal Careers emt announces fundraising promotion

When it comes to fundraising, many schools employ professionals, scour donor lists and focus only on the total. Universal Careers is giving the power to amateurs.

Universal Careers, a leader in EMT/paramedic training, announces a new online contest. “Choose Your Fundraising Theme” is a chance to get students, staff and graduates involved in the organization's growth.

Universal Careers executive Mitch Campbell said, “We thought, who knows Universal Careers better than our students and staff? These are the people who are part of our mission to train top quality EMT/paramedics, so we should turn to them for fundraising ideas. While UC will continue traditional fundraising, past graduates and staff members may have great ideas for broadening our base and getting our mission out there.”

Universal Careers has been training EMT/paramedics since 2005, using innovative methods. Their intensive programs have helped thousands prepare and certify as EMTs in a growing field. And this nontraditional thinking is what Campbell hopes will spur more interactive and successful fundraising ideas.

“We know the people we work with and our students can think in different ways. That's why we want to tap them asa resource to help continue Universal Careers' success.”

Fundraising ideas can be mailed to info@universalcareers.org.

Universal Careers offers training course

Thousands of people will need some form of Emergency Medical Services over the course of a year. Many may be significant but minor injuries or problems such as broken bones or similar injuries. Others may be more intense, such as massive trauma and organ failure. These latter issues are of significant concern for all involved, including medical professionals and families of critical care patients.

Universal Careers, a premiere organization dedicated to training EMT/paramedics, is offering a Critical Care training program starting in February 2011. The program will discuss issues in critical care from all perspectives, including procedures and treatments available to EMS personnel, problems faced by medical centers and steps that families take when faced with critical care needs.

“This is a growing part of medicine and medical care,” said Kevin Simpson, program manager for Universal Careers. “Critical care emergencies pose a whole host of concerns and questions for families and health care professionals. It is important for EMT/paramedics to be informed and prepared for what could happen and the choices that some people and families make when faced with a major medical emergency such as organ failure or treatment related infections.”

Universal Careers has been training EMT/paramedics since 2005. Students are taught by experienced paramedics who instruct students using up to date methods and equipment both in and out of classroom settings. Graduates of Universal Careers are able to certify in all 50 states and work in a variety of health care professions.

Universal Careers conference a success

Thousands of EMS professionals attended Universal Careers annual conference last September, making it a success.

“We knew it was going to be well attended, but we were pleasantly surprised by the numbers,” said Rick Hamilton, senior executive for development at UC.

Universal Careers is a leading training organization for EMT/paramedics. The school offers students an intensive program taught by experienced EMT/paramedics using up to date methods and experiences outside the classroom to prepare graduates.

The conference was a way for EMS professionals to meet and share ideas, as well as to get a look at the products and offerings of multiple vendors. The conference also offered seminars to EMT/paramedics about procedures and certification information and updates.

“As a UC grad and a paramedic, I wanted to come and see what the school offered in a conference. I was able to attend a couple of workshops and can take back the information to my company,” said Martin Stewart. “My training was great, and Universal Careers was able to apply that same quality to a conference. Most other conferences just have speakers telling you what you know, and are just excuses for vendors to get together. This one was definitely not like that.”
